St. Jude Catholic School
The St. Jude Catholic School located in Camalote, Belize houses approximately 236 students. As you can see in the video the school is in desperate need of help. The ceilings in some of the rooms need repairs from leaks. One of the buildings that houses 4 classrooms has major gaps between the boards which is causing a problem with rodents such as bats and rats entering into the classrooms. In the mornings when the children and teachers come to school there is bat waste on the desks and papers. Can you imagine sending your child to school here? There are also rumors of the school being shut down and taken over by the government, which means all current employees will lose their jobs and the school would no longer be a Catholic school, but instead a government school. This could happen if they are unable to provide clean and safe classrooms for the children. We will be trying to raise funds in phases. The first phase is to raise enough funds to replace the gaps in the wood gables, with new steel supports and metal zinc. This will keep the bats and rodents from entering the building. Could you please help us reach our goal of $5,000 U.S. in order to provide safe and clean classrooms for these students? If you would like to help, please click on the link below and watch the video.
